Shows munitions along roads; a captured dam on the Ruhr (SFR only); and battle for a Ger. bldg. Part 4 Gens. Clark, McNarney, and Marshall tour the Italian front. Part 5 (SFR only, reel 3) former inmates of Cabanatuan Prison recount cruelty. Part 6 (CB part 5), the 6th Army battles on Luzon. Shows a demolished enemy convoy. MacArthur watches troops cross the Angert River. The 1st Cav. Div. enters Manila (Feb. 3). Reel 4 (SFR only; duplicated in CB 43, part 6), in Manila, U.S. students at Santo Tomas Univ. and former inmates of Bilibid Prison prepare to return to the U.S. Japanese shells hit the Univ.; wounded are treated. The 37th Div. and the 1st Cav. Div. battle in the city. Civilians flee fires set by retreating Japanese. Shows atrocity victims in a pit; Japanese collaborationist; freed prisoners; burning docks. MacArthur arrives. The 37th Div. crosses the Pasig River and fights in Intramuros. Japanese held public buildings are shelled. Part 6 (CB only) duplicates SFR 43, part 5.
